Does Ultimate Sandbag Training Really Make THAT Big of Difference?

You may expect me to say a huge YES, however, I will tell you Ultimate Sandbag Training can’t do much for you if you don’t use the far more important training tool, your brain! Not in the regards of avoiding dangerous exercises, but the truth of the matter is that event top fitness professionals completely miss on the terrific progressive programs they can create via our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training.

Where Do I Start My Ultimate Sandbag Training?

You don’t have to have a four year degree or 15 years in the fitness industry to reap the tremendous benefits of Ultimate Sandbag Training. Once you understand the rules, you can begin to create limitless fun and effective fitness training programs. One of the toughest things in overcoming the staleness of most fitness programs is the fact that we are not black and white. For example, we may say that an Ultimate Sandbag Training exercise is a “stability” drill, but that doesn’t mean it won’t make you stronger or get that heart rate really pumping. On the same side, if an exercise is a “strength” drill, that doesn’t mean there is some element of stability and again could get your metabolic system really charging.

I often tell trainers in our DVRT certification that an Ultimate Sandbag Training exercise can be any one of the following: Stability, Strength, Conditioning, Flexibility and often times it is all of them. However, the FOCUS for an individual can be prioritizing one of these goals and often allows us to choose the right variation of Ultimate Sandbag Training exercises to assign ourselves or others. The exciting aspect of our training system is that even when our industry is moving towards more group based programs, it allows for individualization to be placed in a group atmosphere!

Ok so getting into it. Many times we will use circuits in our training to maximize training time and time we have with people. Such power circuits are a tremendous means of getting a lot done in a short amount of time. How can you organize them though and create such workout programs? Usually there will be anywhere from 3-6 exercises, this depends on your level of fitness, focus on a particular quality, and honestly, personality. However, definitely a case where more is not always better!

From this point we have a ton of options, generally speaking stability based exercises have always been the “vegetable” on the dinner plate. Something people know that is good for them, but everyone hates to do and often tries to feed to the dog! Yet, by using more dynamic exercises and placing them at the beginning (rather than the end) of our workouts we are not only getting off to a good start but usually this helps the quality of all the other exercises in the circuit because we awaken more muscles and segments of the body.

Next we often like to implement an Ultimate Sandbag Training exercise that has a focus on handling more weight. Why do we do this? One, it hits more of the fast-twitch muscle fibers that are the easiest to develop. Two, we can get even more out of our circuit because again we are really stimulating the nervous system which is responsible for how many and how much muscles are used. Three, because often there is a strong core component as well which teaches us how to help our low backs. Last we can place an Ultimate Sandbag Training drill that is more focused on fluidity of movement. Such great examples of this in our Ultimate Sandbag Training system are our rotational drills that also add an additional element of complexity.

Together, this type of system hits the entire body from head to toe and amazingly enough can be performed with one to two Ultimate Sandbags. We can make an Ultimate Sandbag Training workout more focused on upper body, lower body, or combining the two. A Lesson I Learned About Ultimate Sandbag Training

This past weekend was another wonderful opportunity to run our Dynamic Variable Resistance Training Certification to top fitness professionals from not only around the country, but around the world as well. These programs aren’t about teaching others, but important lessons I learn about myself, our program, and Ultimate Sandbag Training overall. Especially enlightening was a conversation I had with a coach about our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training at dinner. He was almost mad at me, in fact, a word that came out was DISAPPOINTED!

A lot of it is my fault, I’ve always made it a point not to shove our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training philosophy down people’s throat. I’ve always had the philosophy we want to help those that want our help. We don’t go around bashing other training methods, we want to always seem positive and empowering to people and think Ultimate Sandbag Training should be the same. However, this coach made me think if everything we were doing was right! After attending our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training Certification he told me I was doing a disservice to our program and those that need it. Hmmm, I was all ears! He went on to tell me that what we have is so special and if we don’t stand up for it harder then we aren’t really helping people and we aren’t helping changing an industry that needs a lot of it.

He Made Me Change My Mind About Ultimate Sandbag Training

As he continued to discuss this idea to me, I couldn’t help but find myself nodding. It isn’t about tearing down others, but rather telling the truth and standing up harder for ideals that we believe so deeply in. One of them that he mentioned right off the bat was the whole “homemade sandbag” idea. In his words, “if let people believe for one second that Ultimate Sandbag Training and homemade sandbags  are the same thing then you are hurting not helping people!” He was right! As we continue to grow not as an equipment company, but and educational company I am finding it more important that people realize that Ultimate Sandbag Training isn’t about anything but providing better solutions, faster results, and more fun workout programs that keep you motivated for the long run.

When people talk about sandbag training I often feel we aren’t even talking the same language. People that see a bag of sand miss the depth and versatility of what is becoming known as a revolutionary system of functional fitness. In fact, when people ask me about sandbag training I almost feel a pit in my stomach, do people ask Louie Simmons about “barbell training”? You think Arnold Schwarzenegger talked about the validity of dumbbells? How about leading spine specialist Dr. McGill, you think he gets asked about “abs”? Maybe, but the point is that isn’t what any of these people are about. It is the result, it is the power to transform people’s bodies, and for us we want to change their lives!

So, if you want to use a piece of crap and not make progress in your training then by all means keep using those nasty homemade sandbags, however, if you want to raise your fitness to new heights, help aching injuries, and transform how you see fitness programs I invite you to continue to follow our evolving and growing DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training program.
